How Much Can You Make Selling Printables on Etsy? Fees, Real Numbers and a Calculator (2026)
What one printable sale keeps after Etsy's fees, compared with Gumroad and KDP, what Etsy's own annual report says about shop sizes, our data on 2,921 books listed by 473 authors, and a calculator for your own prices.
Quick Answer
A $4.50 printable sold on Etsy in the US keeps $3.62 after the 6.5% transaction fee, 3% + $0.25 payment processing and the $0.20 listing fee, or $2.95 if the sale came from one of Etsy's Offsite Ads. What you make depends on how many sales you get, and Etsy does not publish that per shop. Its 2025 annual report counts 5.6 million active sellers and $10.46 billion in sales, an average of about $156 a month per seller, pulled up by the largest shops. Most printable shops earn less than that; steady earners usually have many listings, bundles and seasonal products.
"How much can you make selling printables on Etsy?" usually gets one of two answers online: a screenshot of a big month, or a shrug. Neither helps you decide whether to open a shop. The useful answer comes in two parts. First, what one sale actually keeps once Etsy has taken its fees, which is simple arithmetic. Second, how many sales a printable shop can expect, which is where honesty matters, because most shops sell far less than the screenshots suggest.
This guide does both. The fee figures are Etsy's and Gumroad's published US fees, with the KDP comparison computed the same way as our how many books calculator, so the pages agree. The market figures come from Etsy's own annual report for 2025, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. We also add one number nobody else has: how many books people actually list on Etsy and Gumroad after making them with Inkfluence AI. What one printable sale keeps on Etsy
A printable is a digital file the buyer downloads and prints at home: a planner, a budget sheet, a set of coloring pages, a classroom worksheet, a party sign. Etsy charges the same fees on it as on a physical item, minus anything to do with shipping. For a shop with a US bank account, there are four:
- Listing fee: $0.20. Each listing costs $0.20 and lasts four months or until it sells. A digital listing usually has a large quantity, so with auto-renew on, each sale renews it for another $0.20. In practice that is $0.20 a sale, plus $0.20 every four months for each listing that does not sell.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the price (and of any shipping, which a download does not have).
- Payment processing: 3% + $0.25 per order in the US. Other countries have different rates.
- Offsite Ads: 15% or 12%, only on a sale that came from an ad Etsy placed on another website. Shops that sold under $10,000 in the past year pay 15% and can opt out; shops at $10,000 or more pay 12% and cannot. The fee is capped at $100 an order.
Put together, the fixed parts ($0.25 processing and $0.20 listing) are $0.45 a sale, and the percentage parts are 9.5%. That means cheap items lose a larger share. Here is what common printable prices keep:
| Price | Etsy fees | Keep on Etsy | Keep, Offsite Ads sale (15%) | Keep, Offsite Ads sale (12%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $1.99 | $0.64 (32%) | $1.35 | $1.05 | $1.11 |
| $2.99 | $0.73 (24%) | $2.26 | $1.81 | $1.90 |
| $4.50 | $0.88 (20%) | $3.62 | $2.95 | $3.08 |
| $4.99 | $0.92 (18%) | $4.07 | $3.32 | $3.47 |
| $7.99 | $1.21 (15%) | $6.78 | $5.58 | $5.82 |
| $12.99 (bundle) | $1.68 (13%) | $11.31 | $9.36 | $9.75 |
| $24.99 (large bundle) | $2.82 (11%) | $22.17 | $18.42 | $19.17 |
US shop, US dollars, no sales tax. Keep = price - 6.5% - (3% + $0.25) - $0.20 listing renewal, minus 15% or 12% when the sale came from an Offsite Ad. Etsy fees as published on Etsy's fee page (checked 10 Oct 2026; Etsy blocks automated reading, so the page could not be re-read on 19 Oct 2026). The 6.5% transaction fee and the 12% and 15% Offsite Ads rates are confirmed in Etsy's 2025 annual report, read 19 Oct 2026.
Three things in that table matter more than the rest:
- Under $3, fees take about a quarter or more. A $1.99 printable keeps $1.35; a third of the price has gone before you count your time. Very cheap single pages make sense only as a way into a shop with bigger items.
- Bundles keep more per buyer. One $12.99 bundle keeps $11.31. Three separate $4.50 sales keep $10.86, and they need three buyers instead of one.
- Offsite Ads take about a fifth of what is left. On a $4.50 sale, the 15% fee takes about $0.68 and leaves $2.95. That is a fair price for a sale you would not otherwise have made, but if a large share of your orders arrive through Offsite Ads, your real keep is lower than the plain fee figure.
One more cost sits outside every sale: a one-time set-up fee for new shops in many countries, which Etsy's annual report says it introduced in 2024 "to encourage a higher standard of seller commitment." The amount depends on your country and is shown when you open the shop.

Enter a price and a number of sales a month. The calculator shows what each sale keeps on Etsy (with your share of Offsite Ads sales and your shop size), on Gumroad (direct sales and its Discover marketplace), and on Amazon KDP for the same product as a Kindle ebook or as a printed coloring paperback. It runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere. For royalties on other book stores, use the royalty calculator.
What you keep per sale: Etsy, Gumroad, KDP
US sellers, US dollars. Etsy and Gumroad fees as published; KDP rules checked 19 Oct 2026.
| Where and how | Keep a sale | Share kept | A month |
|---|
Etsy keep = price - 6.5% - (3% + $0.25) - $0.20 listing renewal, minus Offsite Ads (15% under $10,000 a year, 12% at or above, capped at $100 an order) on the share of sales that came from them. Gumroad direct = price - (10% + $0.50) - card processing (2.9% + $0.30); Gumroad Discover = 70% of price. KDP Kindle ebook = 70% x (price - $0.06 delivery) from $2.99 to $12.99, otherwise 35% x price. KDP paperback = 60% x price at $9.99 and up, 50% at $9.98 and below, minus $2.84 printing. Sales tax left out. A month = sales x keep, before your own costs and income tax. A calculation, not a forecast.
Run the default numbers ($4.50, 20 sales a month, no Offsite Ads) and the gap between stores is clear: $72.40 a month on Etsy, $62.40 on Gumroad direct, $62.20 as a $4.50 Kindle ebook, and $23.20 from a $7.99 coloring paperback. The per-sale order flips at higher prices, and the paperback improves sharply at $9.99, where KDP's royalty rises from 50% to 60%. Our KDP income guide covers what Amazon books earn per copy in every format.
Why most shops sell little: Etsy's own numbers
The per-sale figure is the easy half. The hard half is sales, and Etsy is the only source with real numbers for its whole marketplace. Its annual report for 2025 (the Form 10-K filed with the SEC) gives the scale:
| Etsy marketplace, 2025 | Figure |
|---|---|
| Active buyers, 31 December 2025 | 86.5 million |
| Active sellers, 31 December 2025 | 5.6 million |
| Etsy marketplace gross merchandise sales, 2025 | $10.46 billion |
| Average sales per active seller (our division) | about $1,870 a year, $156 a month |
| Items for sale | more than 100 million |
| Habitual buyers (six or more purchase days and $200+ a year) | about 7% of buyers, about 40% of sales |
| Active buyers who shop on Etsy once a year | roughly half |
| Sellers who are businesses of one / run from home | 89% / 97% |
| Sellers who say their creative business is their sole occupation | 29% |
Source: Etsy, Inc. Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended 31 December 2025, read on sec.gov on 19 Oct 2026. Seller figures are from Etsy's Seller Census as quoted in the report. The average is our division of marketplace sales by active sellers; Etsy does not publish sales per shop.
Four readings hold up well.
- The average shop is small, and the typical shop is smaller. $10.46 billion across 5.6 million sellers is about $156 a month each in gross sales, before any fees or costs. That covers every category, from furniture to jewellery, and a few very large shops pull any average up. At $4.50 a printable, the average alone would be about 35 sales a month. Most printable shops are below it.
- "Active seller" includes shops with no sales. Etsy counts a seller as active if they had "a charge or sale in the last 12 months." A listing fee is a charge. So the 5.6 million includes many shops that listed something and sold nothing, which is a fair picture of how many people try.
- The shelf is crowded. More than 100 million items compete for searches. Many printables sit inside the "paper and party supplies" category, one of Etsy's six largest, so demand is real, but so is the number of similar planners.
- Buyers come and go. Roughly half of active buyers shop on Etsy only once a year, while a small group of habitual buyers (about 7%) bring about 40% of sales. A printable shop that wins repeat buyers, through a series of planners or a matching set, has an advantage over one-off listings.
You will see bigger figures quoted, such as "$4,000 to $10,000 a month for established shops." They trace back to individual sellers' stories in news articles, not to any count of shops, and nobody publishes how many shops reach them. Treat them as proof that the top end exists, not as a forecast. Our realistic expectations for an ebook side income takes the same view of digital products in general.
Build the catalogue, not one listing
Shops that sell steadily tend to have many related products. Inkfluence AI drafts a coloring book, planner-style workbook or picture book in minutes, so a set of ten themed printables is a week's work, not a season's. Your first book is free.
Start your printable catalogueOur data: 2,921 books listed by 473 authors
Inkfluence AI can send a finished book straight to an author's Etsy or Gumroad shop, which lets us count something no marketplace publishes: how many products a typical creator actually lists. As of 19 October 2026, 2,921 books by 473 authors had a store listing made through Inkfluence AI, almost all on Gumroad or Etsy. The median author had listed 2 books, and the 10 most active authors held 36% of all Gumroad listings and 52% of all Etsy listings.
| Store listings made through Inkfluence AI | Gumroad | Etsy |
|---|---|---|
| Books listed | 2,638 | 583 |
| Authors who listed | 447 | 106 |
| Median listings per author | 2 | 2 |
| Listings per author, 75th percentile | 4 | 5 |
| Authors with exactly one listing | 209 (47%) | 47 (44%) |
| Share of listings held by the 10 most active authors | 35.8% | 52.3% |
Across both stores, 301 books are listed in more than one place, and only two carry an Amazon link. By kind, 1,498 of the 2,921 listed books are non-fiction guides, 839 are novels or other fiction, and the rest are workbooks, planners and journals, cookbooks, picture books, coloring books and other books. Listings have grown since publishing to the two stores opened in May 2026:
| Month of the latest publish | Gumroad | Etsy |
|---|---|---|
| May 2026 | 254 | 9 |
| June 2026 | 495 | 18 |
| July 2026 | 457 | 91 |
| August 2026 | 613 | 232 |
| September 2026 | 537 | 144 |
| October 2026 (to the 19th) | 282 | 86 |
Read plainly, this looks like any marketplace. Most people try one or two products, and a small group builds catalogues: on Etsy, ten authors made more than half of all the listings. That matches the shape of Etsy's own figures and of author income surveys, where the people earning steadily are almost always the ones with many products. It does not tell us those ten earn the most, because we do not see their sales. It does say that, among people with the same tool, a handful decided to treat selling as a catalogue and most did not.
Method. Counted from Inkfluence AI's project records at about 02:42 UTC on 19 October 2026, our three test accounts excluded; aggregates only, no individual books or authors. A book counts as listed on a store if it carries a listing created by the app's Publish page (an Etsy listing ID or a Gumroad product ID) or a store link the author pasted in (3 Etsy books, 2 Amazon books). An Etsy listing from the app starts as a draft that the author checks and publishes on Etsy, and we do not track whether every listing went live, stayed live or sold: "listed" means a listing was created. Book kinds come from the type chosen when the book was made. Months use the date of each book's latest publish to that store, so a re-published book counts once, in its latest month. We do not store list prices, and too few authors have shared sales data with us to report earnings, so this page gives none. Free to cite with a link to this page.
What moves printable income
If sales are the lever, what moves sales? Etsy's figures, our listing data and the arithmetic above point to six things. None is a trick, and most take months.
1. Catalogue size, built steadily
Each listing is another way to be found in search, and another thing to buy once a shopper lands in your shop. That is why the shops that last tend to have dozens of listings rather than two. It is also why the median of two listings in our data matters: a shop with two products has almost no chance to be found. Each listing costs $0.20 every four months to keep live, so a hundred listings that never sell cost $60 a year. Build in themed groups and keep the ones that sell. For what to make, our digital product ideas list compares formats, and the best digital product niches covers demand.
2. Bundles and sets
The fee table makes the case: a $12.99 bundle keeps $11.31 from one buyer, three single sales at $4.50 keep $10.86 from three. Bundles also look better value in search results. Common shapes are a full-year planner instead of one month, a 30-page coloring set instead of five pages, or a classroom pack with worksheets, answer keys and a cover sheet. Many shops sell the singles and the bundle side by side and let the buyer choose.
3. A niche with searching buyers
Broad listings ("planner", "coloring pages") compete with hundreds of thousands of others. Narrow ones ("homeschool weekly planner for two kids", "bold and easy coloring pages for adults with low vision") reach fewer people who are much more likely to buy. Our list of the best ebook niches on Etsy covers digital niches with steady demand, and the coloring book niches guide covers themes for coloring pages.
4. Seasons
Printables follow the calendar: back-to-school planners in July and August, Halloween and Thanksgiving activity pages in autumn, Christmas gift tags, advent activities and holiday coloring in November and December, budget planners and goal sheets in January, Valentine cards in February. A listing published a few weeks before the season has time to collect its first sales and reviews before the rush. The publishing calendar gives publish-by dates for each season, for Etsy as well as Amazon.
5. The listing itself
On Etsy, buyers judge a printable by its photos: a mockup of the page printed on a desk, on a fridge or in a binder sells better than a flat screenshot. A clear title that says what is inside, all 13 tags filled with phrases buyers use, and a description that lists the pages, sizes and how to print all help search and cut down on questions. Price within the range of similar listings and test one change at a time.
6. Buyers who come back
Etsy's habitual buyers are about 7% of buyers and about 40% of its sales. For a small shop that means a matching series (a planner, then the habit tracker, then the meal planner in the same design) and a thank-you note in the file pointing to the rest of the shop. Some sellers also add a free sample page to build an email list and sell bundles direct; a lead magnet generator can make the sample.
Costs and time beyond the fees
The fees come off every sale. A few other costs and time sinks sit around them, and they are what decide whether a shop is worth it to you.
- Making the product. The biggest cost is your time: designing pages, checking them print correctly at US Letter and A4, and fixing the details buyers notice. Tools that draft the content and lay out the PDF cut this most. Design software or fonts, if you buy them, are a fixed cost.
- Listing photos. Mockups take time to make for each product. Many sellers make a few templates and reuse them.
- Unsold listings. $0.20 every four months each, with auto-renew. Small on its own, noticeable across hundreds of listings that do not sell.
- Etsy Ads. Separate from Offsite Ads, these are paid ads inside Etsy search that you set a daily budget for. They are optional, and on a $4.50 printable they need a very low cost per sale to pay.
- Customer messages. Questions about sizes, printing and downloads arrive with every few orders. A clear "how to print" page inside the file cuts most of them.
- Tax. Etsy collects sales tax in most US states for you; income tax on your profit is yours to pay, and Etsy and Gumroad report seller earnings to tax authorities above set thresholds.
- Rules. Items made with AI must be marked as such in Etsy's listing details, and you need the rights to every image and font in the file. Our Etsy AI disclosure guide covers what to tick and what to write.
There is no stock, no printing and no shipping, and that is the real advantage of printables over physical products: once a listing is made, every extra sale costs only the fees. Our breakdown of the real cost of publishing an AI book covers tool and production costs in more detail.
Three shops, worked through
These three shops are invented, to show the arithmetic on realistic catalogues. The sales figures are assumptions for illustration, not predictions for any real shop.
Illustration 1: Priya, 12 planner printables at $4.50, Offsite Ads off
Each sale keeps $3.62. If the shop sells 20 a month in total, fewer than two per listing: 20 x $3.62 = $72.40 a month, $868.80 a year, from $90 a month in sales. That is below Etsy's average shop and probably a normal first year. Her clearest moves are a year-planner bundle at $12.99 and a matching habit tracker and meal planner in the same design, so a buyer who likes one can buy the set.
Illustration 2: Dan, 40 coloring page sets at $3.99, a quarter of sales from Offsite Ads
A plain sale keeps $3.16; a sale from an Offsite Ad keeps $2.56 after the 15% fee (his shop sells under $10,000 a year). At 60 sales a month, 45 plain and 15 from ads: 45 x $3.16 + 15 x $2.56 = $180.60 a month, from $239.40 in sales. Dan could switch Offsite Ads off, but those 15 sales may not happen without them, and $2.56 is better than nothing. His bigger lever is seasonal sets published ahead of Halloween and Christmas, when coloring demand rises.
Illustration 3: Mara, a homeschool shop with singles and bundles, on Etsy or on Gumroad
Each month she sells 25 single worksheets at $4.50 and 10 term bundles at $12.99. On Etsy: 25 x $3.62 + 10 x $11.31 = $203.60 a month from $242.40 in sales. The same sales on Gumroad direct keep 25 x $3.12 + 10 x $10.51 = $183.10. Etsy keeps more per sale here, but Gumroad has no listing fee and suits sales to her own email list. Many sellers in Mara's position list on both and send their own audience to whichever page they prefer.
Across the three, the per-sale figure varies by about a dollar; sales per month vary by three times, and bundles lift what each buyer is worth. The same conclusion as every honest income guide: the store's fees matter less than the catalogue and the buyers.
From idea to Etsy draft in one place
Make the book, check it, and send it to Etsy as a draft listing with a title, description, tags, a suggested price, the PDF and the cover filled in, or straight to Gumroad. You tick Etsy's AI box and publish. Creator and Premium plans include both stores.
Make and list your first printableEtsy, Gumroad or KDP: where a printable belongs
The same pages can be sold three ways, and each suits a different seller.
- Etsy brings buyers who search for printables, which suits a seller with no audience yet. It keeps the most per sale at low prices ($3.62 of $4.50), and costs a listing fee per listing. The guide to selling ebooks on Etsy covers setup.
- Gumroad keeps $3.12 of a $4.50 direct sale and has no listing fee. It suits sellers who bring buyers themselves, from an email list, a blog or social media. Its Discover marketplace can find buyers too, at a flat 30%. See selling on Gumroad, and Etsy vs Gumroad for the two side by side.
- Amazon KDP sells a printed book, not a download. A $7.99 coloring paperback earns $1.16 a copy and the same book at $9.99 earns $3.15, and Amazon's audience of book buyers is far larger than either store's. Since 21 September 2026 KDP takes two new titles per format a week. Our Gumroad vs Amazon KDP comparison and is KDP worth it in 2026 weigh it up.
Many sellers use all three: the printable on Etsy for people who print at home, the same file on Gumroad for their own list, and a paperback on KDP for buyers who want a printed book. For journals, planners and coloring books on Amazon, our low-content book income guide does the same arithmetic for KDP, and low-content books on KDP covers Amazon's rules.
Where Inkfluence AI fits
We make a book and printable maker, so here is plainly what it does and does not do for income. It does not bring buyers, and nothing on this page is a promise of sales. What it does is make the product fast and get it into your shop, which leaves your time for the catalogue, the photos and the seasons that decide sales. We think it is the best tool for making printables and digital books to sell, for these reasons:
- Printables of every kind. Coloring books (including bold and easy pages), illustrated picture books and ABC books, workbooks and planners, guided journals, recipe books and short guides, drafted from your idea in minutes and edited in one place.
- A print-ready PDF. Every plan exports a PDF, the file buyers download and print at home. Paid plans and credit packs also unlock EPUB, Word and the KDP paperback package from the same book.
- Straight to your shop. On Creator and Premium, the Publish page sends a finished book to Etsy as a draft listing, with the title, description, tags, a suggested price, the file and the cover filled in, for you to check, mark as made with AI and publish. It sends the same book to Gumroad as a product. The selling help articles walk through connecting each shop.
- A catalogue, not one file. Turn a book into a series, a translation with the book translator, or a matching set, each a new listing for new buyers.
The free plan lets you make a book and export it as a PDF, so you can judge the result before paying. Plans and prices are on the pricing page, and our page for Etsy sellers shows the workflow end to end.

- Work out what one sale keeps. Use the table or the calculator above: about 80% of a $4.50 price, more at higher prices, less if sales come from Offsite Ads.
- Pick an honest sales number. Start low: a new listing selling one or two copies a month is normal. Etsy's average shop sells about $156 a month across everything, and most printable shops sell less.
- Multiply by the listings you will really make. Count finished, photographed listings, not ideas. Then add the bundles you can build from them.
- Subtract your costs. Tools, design assets, Etsy Ads if you use them, and $0.20 every four months for listings that do not sell.
- Publish ten and replace the guess. Two or three months of real sales across a small themed set tell you more than any table. Keep what sells, bundle it, and make the next set for the coming season.

How much can you make selling printables on Etsy?
Most printable shops make a small amount, and a few make a living. Each sale keeps about 80% of a $4.50 price after Etsy's fees ($3.62), so income is mostly a question of how many sales you get. Etsy does not publish income per shop. Its 2025 annual report gives 5.6 million active sellers and $10.46 billion in marketplace sales, an average of about $1,870 a year per seller across every category, and an average is pulled up by the largest shops.
How much does Etsy take from a $5 digital download?
On a $4.99 digital download sold in the US, Etsy takes about $0.92 and you keep $4.07: a $0.32 transaction fee (6.5%), $0.40 payment processing (3% + $0.25) and the $0.20 listing fee that renews when the item sells. If the sale came from one of Etsy's Offsite Ads, a further 15% ($0.75) comes off, or 12% for shops selling $10,000 or more a year, leaving $3.32 or $3.47.
Is selling printables on Etsy worth it in 2026?
It can be, if you treat it as a catalogue built over months rather than a single listing. Fees are modest on a $5 to $15 item, there is no stock or shipping, and Etsy brings buyers who search for planners and printables. Against that, the marketplace is crowded (more than 100 million items for sale), most buyers shop on Etsy once a year, and listing photos, tags and customer messages take time. It suits people who enjoy making many small products and checking what sells.
How many sales does an Etsy printable shop make?
Etsy does not publish sales per shop, so any exact figure you see is a guess or one seller's story. Two public numbers frame it: Etsy counts anyone with a charge or a sale in the last 12 months as an active seller, so the 5.6 million includes shops with no sales, and its average sales per active seller work out at about $156 a month. At $4.50 a printable, that average would be about 35 sales a month, and the typical shop is below the average.
What are Etsy's fees for digital products?
In the US: $0.20 to list an item for four months (renewed for $0.20 each time it sells), a 6.5% transaction fee on the sale price, and payment processing of 3% + $0.25. Offsite Ads add 15% (or 12% at $10,000 a year in sales) only on sales that come from Etsy's ads on other websites. Digital files have no shipping, so there is no transaction fee on postage.
What are Etsy Offsite Ads and can I turn them off?
Etsy advertises listings on other websites and charges a fee only when a buyer clicks one of those ads and then buys: 15% of the order for shops that sold under $10,000 in the last year, 12% for shops at or above $10,000, capped at $100 an order. Shops under $10,000 can opt out in their settings; shops at or above it cannot. On a $4.50 printable, a 15% Offsite Ads sale keeps $2.95 instead of $3.62.
Is Etsy or Gumroad better for selling printables?
Etsy keeps more per sale at low prices and brings shoppers who are already searching; Gumroad keeps less per cheap sale but suits sellers who bring their own audience from email, social media or a website. A $4.50 printable keeps $3.62 on Etsy and $3.12 on Gumroad direct (10% + $0.50, plus card processing of 2.9% + $0.30). Sales through Gumroad's Discover marketplace pay a flat 30%. Many sellers list on both.
Do printables make more money than KDP books?
Per sale, often yes. A $4.50 printable coloring pack keeps $3.62 on Etsy, while a $7.99 coloring paperback on KDP earns $1.16 a copy after printing, because Amazon pays 50% below $9.99 and then takes the printing cost. Amazon brings far more book buyers, though, so total income depends on how many sales each route actually brings you, not on the per-sale figure.
How many listings do you need to make money on Etsy?
There is no fixed number, because sales per listing vary so much. As arithmetic: at $4.50 a printable keeps $3.62, so $500 a month needs about 139 sales. That is 14 sales a month each from 10 listings, or about 3 each from 50. Most new listings sell far fewer than 14 a month, which is why sellers who earn steadily usually have many listings and bundles.
Can I sell AI-made printables on Etsy?
Yes, with disclosure. Etsy asks sellers to mark items made with an AI generator in the listing's "How it's made" details and to describe them honestly. You also need the rights to everything in the file, and AI-made art still has to avoid copyrighted characters and trademarks. Our Etsy AI disclosure guide covers the rules in detail.
How many books do Inkfluence AI authors list on Etsy and Gumroad?
As of 19 October 2026, 2,921 books by 473 authors had a store listing made through Inkfluence AI, almost all on Gumroad or Etsy. The median author has listed 2 books on each store, and the 10 most active authors hold 36% of the Gumroad listings and 52% of the Etsy listings. We do not track listing prices, and too few authors share sales data for an earnings figure.
What price should I charge for a printable on Etsy?
Look at what similar listings charge, then remember that Etsy's fixed fees ($0.45 a sale: $0.25 processing plus the $0.20 listing renewal) take a bigger share of cheap items. At $1.99 fees take about 32% of the price; at $4.99 about 18%; at $12.99 about 13%. Bundles let you charge more per buyer: one $12.99 bundle keeps $11.31, more than three separate $4.50 sales ($10.86).
