By Sam May, Founder of Inkfluence AI
Inkfluence AI vs First Book ai
One writes a business book in a fixed shape from a questionnaire. The other writes any kind of book to your outline, then finishes it with a cover, images and an audiobook. A factual comparison for coaches, consultants and founders, grounded in data from 95,000+ books created on Inkfluence AI.
Quick Answer
Inkfluence AI and First Book ai both write a business book from your expertise, and that is where the overlap ends. First Book ai writes non-fiction business books only, in a fixed structure of eight chapters with three sub-sections each, from a questionnaire and a pasted writing sample, for $29 a book on its site or as an AppSumo lifetime deal with a monthly book allowance. Inkfluence AI writes 33 kinds of book, fiction included, with the chapter count set by your prompt; you edit any chapter with an assistant, add a cover and images, narrate the audiobook with 49 voices, translate into 59 languages, and export PDF, EPUB, DOCX and print-ready KDP files or publish to Gumroad and Etsy, from a free plan or $9.99 a month (see pricing). First Book ai's edge is its writing-sample voice profile and a one-book simplicity; Inkfluence AI's is range, control and the finished product.
The Quick Verdict
These tools agree on the buyer, a professional turning expertise into a book, and disagree on everything after the first prompt. The decision is about how much of the book you want to shape, and what you want in your hands at the end.
Choose Inkfluence AI if you:
- ✓Want to set the chapter count and edit the outline before anything is written, then rewrite any passage afterwards
- ✓Will write more than one kind of book: a business book now, a workbook, a lead magnet or a novel later
- ✓Need the cover, in-chapter images, the audiobook and store-ready files from the same place
- ✓Want to write in a language other than English, or translate the finished book
- ✓Prefer a free plan you can finish a short book on, and a monthly price rather than a per-book credit
Choose First Book ai if you:
- ✓Want exactly one non-fiction business book and are happy with an eight-chapter, three-section shape
- ✓Want a style profile built from a pasted writing sample, and a questionnaire rather than a prompt
- ✓Prefer to approve chapters one at a time inside a guided flow
- ✓Want a members' group for business-book authors alongside the tool
- ✓Would rather pay $29 once for one book than start a subscription
What 95,000+ Books Tell Us About Business Books
Most comparison pages repeat marketing claims. This one is informed by what authors actually do on Inkfluence AI.
95,000+
books created on the platform
33
book-type blueprints, fiction and non-fiction
30+
languages generated natively; about 1 in 6 books is non-English
~41%
of finished books are exported for publishing
The most useful thing this data shows for this comparison is that the business book is rarely the only book. In our September 2026 count, books classified as business were about 3% of the corpus, behind practical how-to guides, personal development and fiction. The same people write a how-to guide for their clients, a workbook for their programme and a lead magnet for their list, and a tool that writes one shape of one kind of book serves the first of those and none of the rest. Our first-party data study has the full breakdown.
The second thing is the finish line. Roughly 41% of finished books are exported, PDF is the most common format, and authors have connected the platform to real storefronts, with well over a thousand books pushed to Gumroad and hundreds listed on Etsy. That is why the cover, the audiobook, the print interior and the store listing live in the same product as the writing: the book is not done when the prose is done, and a business book in particular earns its keep as a lead magnet, a client gift and a speaking calling-card, all of which need a finished file.
The third is about voice. First Book ai's central promise is a book that sounds like you, and the AppSumo reviews of every AI book tool, ours included, show that readers judge voice hardest in business non-fiction, where the author's name is on the cover for professional reasons. No pipeline removes the author's read-through. What a tool can do is make the rewrite cheap: on Inkfluence AI you select the passage and change it, regenerate the chapter with a sharper brief, or paste your own paragraph in, and the rest of the book stays put.

Business Books on Inkfluence AI, by the Numbers
A count of every business-purpose book on the platform (practical guides, playbooks, lead magnets, technical guides, strategy books, industry reports) taken on 14 September 2026. These are the numbers a fixed-shape generator cannot show you, because it has one shape.
9,281
business-purpose books, 9% of everything written on the platform
5
median chapters in a business book; 939 have 7 or 8, 186 have more than 20
55%
exported at least once, against 41% of books site-wide. Business books get finished
98%
of exported business books were first exported within 24 hours of being created; the median is under an hour
83%
were written from an author brief; the median brief is 228 characters, about three sentences
18%
are not in English: French, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic and German lead
The shape people actually choose. The median business book on the platform is five chapters, not eight. A lead magnet is three or four; a client playbook is six to eight; a method book runs to fifteen or twenty. Among business books with a word count on record, the median is about 8,700 words, with the middle half between 7,100 and 10,100. The fixed eight-chapter, three-section grid produces a book two to four times longer than most business authors set out to write, which is fine for the author who wants that and a cost for the one who wanted a sharp 6,000-word client gift.
The book is finished the same day. Of business books that get exported, 98% are first exported within 24 hours of the project being created, and the median gap is under an hour. That is the draft being generated, read and taken out as a PDF in one sitting. It is also why "minutes, not years" is not the differentiator any tool can claim: the drafting is fast everywhere now, and the difference is what you can do to the draft afterwards.
Voice starts in the brief. 83% of business books here were written from an author brief, and the median brief is about three sentences. Short briefs are where invented examples come from: a model asked for "examples" with none supplied fills the slot with something plausible. The outline step assigns each chapter its own framework, opening style and example person before any prose is written, and the brief is where you put the real client situations. That is a different design from a questionnaire and a pasted writing sample, and it is the reason the edit is where the voice work happens on this platform.
Where they go. PDF is the dominant export for business books (4,751 of the 5,142 exported), because most of them are handed to a client or a list rather than sold; 198 have been published to Gumroad and 39 to Etsy straight from the app, and 86 have an audiobook. Nearly one in five is written in a language other than English, which is the plainest case for a tool that writes natively in 30+ languages rather than one that its founder described as English-only when asked.

Pick your answers above.
Describe Your Business Book. See the Outline in a Minute.
The fastest way to compare is to watch the outline come back. Three sentences is enough: who it is for, what they will be able to do by the end, and the method you use. It opens in the dashboard, free, no card, and you can change the chapter count before anything is written.
How Each One Makes a Business Book
Inkfluence AI: your brief, your outline, any shape
You describe the book in the business book writer: who it is for, what it teaches, the tone. The AI proposes an outline with a named framework, an opening style and an example person for each chapter, so the chapters do not repeat one another; you edit the outline, set the chapter count and generate. Non-fiction chapters write in parallel and land in the editor with a generated cover and the export preview. Generation runs on Inkfluence's servers, so closing the tab does not stop it.
Revision happens in the same editor: select any passage and rewrite, expand, shorten, proofread or change its tone; regenerate a chapter with a better brief; ask the assistant for a chapter or whole-book editorial review; add images; then design the cover, narrate the audiobook and export or publish.
First Book ai: a questionnaire, a sample, one shape
You answer a short questionnaire (topic, audience, goal, depth, style), paste a writing sample and add personal anecdotes. It builds a style profile and proposes an eight-chapter outline, which you can edit and rearrange, free. One credit writes the book: eight chapters with three sub-sections each, roughly 30,000 to 35,000 words per its listing, reviewed and approved one chapter at a time in the newer version of the flow, with inline edits and a regenerate-chapter option during approval.
It generates one cover per book, exports DOCX, EPUB, Markdown and PDF, and points you to Amazon KDP. There are no interior images, no audiobook, no import of an existing manuscript, and, per its founder on AppSumo, a completed book cannot be regenerated into a new one.
Voice: Sample Profile or Brief and Rewrite
This is the part worth reading slowly, because it is the one place First Book ai has a feature Inkfluence AI does not.
Voice on First Book ai
You paste a writing sample and set tone preferences, and it builds a style profile it describes as capturing your voice, sentence patterns and personality, then writes every chapter against it. That is a real feature and a sensible one for a book that carries your professional name. What its own buyers report, in public reviews of the product, is that the result still needs a full author's edit, which is true of every AI draft and worth pricing into your plan.
Voice on Inkfluence AI
There is no writing-sample upload. The voice is set by your author brief (the prompt, up to a few paragraphs), a tone preset (conversational, professional, storytelling and others), and your author bio, which the book carries into its front matter. After the draft, the assistant changes the tone of any selection, rewrites in your direction, and you can paste your own paragraphs into any chapter and regenerate the chapters around them. In practice the difference is where the work happens: First Book ai front-loads it into the sample, Inkfluence AI puts it in the edit, where you can see the result.
Repetition, the business-book failure mode
Business books written by AI fail most often by repeating themselves: the same example person, the same framework name, the same opening move in every chapter. Inkfluence AI's non-fiction outline pre-assigns a distinct framework, opening style and example person to every chapter before any prose is written, precisely so that parallel chapters do not converge on one anecdote. First Book ai writes to a fixed eight-by-three grid; how it varies the chapters is not described on its site.
Pricing and What the Money Buys
First Book ai prices read from its homepage and AppSumo listing on 14 September 2026. Inkfluence AI prices are current.
| Plan | Price | What you get | Cover, images, audiobook |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inkfluence AI Free | $0 | 5 chapters to start, 5 more monthly, any book type, PDF export | Cover designer with templates; no AI images or audiobook |
| Inkfluence AI Creator | $9.99/mo or $89/yr | 35 chapters a month, EPUB and DOCX, KDP interior | 10 AI covers, 20 images, 15 audiobook chapters a month |
| Inkfluence AI Premium | $19.99/mo or $179/yr | Unlimited chapters, everything in Creator | 30 AI covers, 50 images, 30 audiobook chapters a month |
| Inkfluence AI credit packs | 15 for $9.99, 25 for $12.99, 50 for $24.99 | Chapter credits that never expire | Credits also buy extra images |
| First Book ai, 1 credit | $29 | One full business book, 8 chapters × 3 sections; outline free | One generated cover; no images, no audiobook |
| First Book ai, 5 credits | $69 | Five books; credits do not expire | As above |
| First Book ai, 20 credits | $199 | Twenty books | As above |
| First Book ai on AppSumo | $49 to $619, lifetime | 1, 3, 10, 20 or unlimited books a month; monthly allowance does not roll over | As above; members' group on the $259 tier and up |
Two things to weigh. First, the unit: First Book ai sells whole books of one shape, Inkfluence AI sells chapters of any shape, so a 12-chapter business book, a 6-chapter lead magnet and a 20-chapter novel all come out of the same Creator month. Second, the extras: on First Book ai the cover is included and there is nothing else to buy or to get; on Inkfluence AI the cover, images and audiobook are part of the paid plans, which is where the per-book comparison stops being about $29 against $9.99. If you genuinely want one book and nothing after it, First Book ai's single credit is the cheaper purchase. Both tools let you test before paying: First Book ai's outline is free, and Inkfluence AI's free plan writes five chapters with no card.

Moving a First Book ai Manuscript to Inkfluence AI
Nothing is locked in. First Book ai exports DOCX; Inkfluence AI imports DOCX, PDF, EPUB and TXT for free and detects chapters from your headings. The usual reason people do this is a finished business book that needs a second edition, images, a different cover or an audiobook, none of which the original tool provides.
- Export the manuscript from First Book ai as DOCX.
- In Inkfluence AI, choose Import on the dashboard and pick the file. Chapters are detected automatically; empty or misdetected chapters can be merged in the editor.
- Regenerate any chapter you were not happy with, using a sharper brief, or rewrite passages with the assistant.
- Add in-chapter images, design the cover, narrate the audiobook, and export PDF, EPUB, DOCX or the KDP print bundle, or publish to Gumroad or Etsy.
