Key takeaways
One shared workspace
Teammates work on the same books under one plan.
Seats
Each teammate you invite uses one seat.
Roles
Owner, Admin, and Member decide who can do what.
What a team workspace is
A team workspace lets you invite other people to write and edit your books alongside you. Everyone shares the same plan, the same usage allowance, and the same shelf of books, each with their own login.
It is designed for authors working with a co-writer, editor, or ghostwriter, and for agencies producing books for clients.
Roles: Owner, Admin, and Member
Every person in a workspace has one role:
- Owner: you, the account holder. Full control, including the plan and billing. There is one owner per workspace.
- Member: can create and edit the workspace's books. This is the right role for most co-writers and editors.
- Admin: everything a Member can do, plus inviting and removing teammates. Give this to someone you trust to manage the team.
Seats and shared usage
Each teammate you invite takes one seat. When all seats are used, remove a member or a pending invite to free one up.
Everyone in the workspace draws from the owner's plan: chapter generations, exports, covers, and audiobooks all count against the same shared allowance. There is no separate charge per teammate.
Who owns the books
Books created by teammates belong to the workspace, not to the individual. If someone leaves or is removed, the books they worked on stay with you. Their access ends immediately, but nothing they created is lost.
How to invite and manage teammates
Send an invite, choose a role, and remove people when a project wraps.

Key takeaways
Account → Team
Manage everything from the Team tab in your account settings.
Invite by email
Enter their email, pick a role, and send.
They accept by email
The invite is tied to that address.
Sending an invite
Open your account settings and go to the Team tab. In the invite row:
- Type the teammate's email address.
- Choose their role: Member (write and edit books) or Admin (that plus manage the team). The (i) next to the role explains the difference.
- Click Invite. We email them a link to join.
How your teammate joins
The invite is tied to the email you sent it to. Your teammate clicks the link in the email, signs in (or signs up) with that same address, and they join the workspace straight away.
Invites expire after 7 days and can each be used once. If one expires, just send a new one.
Removing a teammate or invite
In the Team tab, open the menu next to any member to remove them, or next to a pending invite to revoke it. Removing someone frees up their seat and ends their access immediately. The books they worked on stay in your workspace.
