Practice Number Recognition

You’ll read numbers 0-100 clearly in real places: shop prices, bus tickets, school lists, and phone numbers. If the number is blurry in your mind, it can cost you money or make you miss the right row on a paper list. So we’re going to practice reading numbers fast and correct - without guessing.

Start with your eyes, then your mouth. Say the number out loud as you look at it. If you can’t say it, you can’t read it well yet. Use big, simple steps: cover the number, uncover it, read it, then check.

Look at each number. Write the number in words (example: 7 = seven). Then circle the numbers you can read correctly the first time.

Counting Objects

Numbers are easier when you count real things. In PNG life, you count almost every day: bags of rice, chicken eggs, people in a line, steps to the river, and money in your pocket. So let’s train counting 0-100 using objects you can see.

Here’s the rule for counting: when you point, you must say one number per object. No skipping. No double-counting. Count slowly at first. After that, you can count faster.

Now we practice counting objects in a way that matches everyday grouping. For example, when people count money, they often count by tens: 10, 20, 30… even if the coins are mixed. So let’s count by tens and then count the extra ones.

If counting is still shaky, a simple trick helps: make sure your last number is the total. When you count 23 objects, your last spoken number must be 23. If it’s not, you missed one object somewhere.
