Princess Ellie And Kona’s Brave Day

Kona raced across the castle garden with a blue ball in her mouth. Ellie ran after her, laughing.

“Come back, Kona!” Ellie called.

The garden smelled like roses and warm grass. Bees hummed near the flowers. Ellie wore her little crown, and Kona’s red collar jingled as she hopped over the soft green lawn.

They played by the flower maze. Kona ducked between the bushes. Ellie followed, giggling as leaves brushed her hands.

Then Kona stopped.

Her collar was gone.

Ellie knelt beside her. “Oh, Kona. We will find it.”

Kona looked down at her neck. Her tail drooped. Without her collar, she looked like a toy with a missing ribbon.

“Do not worry,” Ellie said softly. “We can look together.”

Ellie checked the grass. She looked under a bench. She peeked beside a rose bush.

“Is it here?” she asked.

Kona sniffed the ground. She hurried in a circle, then stopped at the same bush.

“Slowly, Kona,” Ellie said. “Rushing makes it hard to see.”

Ellie took a deep breath. The garden felt big, like a green maze. She held Kona’s paw for a moment.

“Let us follow your nose,” she said.

Kona sniffed along the path. Ellie spotted a tiny red thread on a leaf. It matched Kona’s collar.

“Look!” Ellie cried. “A clue!”

They followed the thread past yellow flowers and tall bushes. Soon, they heard water making a quiet plip-plop sound.

The pond shimmered in the sun. Lily pads floated like little green plates.

There, near the reeds, was Kona’s collar.

“We found it!” Ellie said.

But the collar was stuck in the soft mud. Brown reeds curled around it.

Kona stepped forward.

“Wait,” Ellie said kindly. “The mud is squishy. I will help.”

She reached with a long garden stick. The collar wiggled, but it did not come free. Kona sat beside her and watched.

“Good waiting, Kona,” Ellie said. “We will be gentle.”

At last, the collar slipped loose with a small plop. Ellie lifted it from the reeds and wiped it clean with her handkerchief.

Kona’s tail wagged fast. Ellie clasped the collar back around her neck. Jingle, jingle!

They sat together under a shady tree while the pond sparkled nearby. Ellie hugged Kona close.

“Being calm and kind helps us solve little problems,” she said.
