Curiosity caught the...?

In a little town, there were four friends.

Milo the cat.

Duke the dog.

Pip the mouse.

And Tilly the tiger.

They loved adventures.

One sunny day, the friends found a big red box.

The box sat under a tree.

On the box was a sign.

DO NOT OPEN!

The friends stared at it.

“I want to peek inside,” said Milo the cat.

Cats are very curious!

“Maybe we should leave it alone,” said Duke the dog.

But everyone wanted to know what was inside.

Pip the mouse climbed on top of the box.

He sniffed it.

Sniff. Sniff.

“It smells like cookies!” he squeaked.

Now everyone was even more curious.

Tilly the tiger tapped the box gently.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The box wiggled.

The friends jumped back.

“What was THAT?” whispered Duke.

Slowly, Milo opened the lid.

Creeeeak!

The friends held their breath.

POP!

Out flew bubbles.

Big bubbles.

Little bubbles.

So many bubbles!

The friends laughed and chased them.

Then something else popped out.

Rubber ducks!

Yellow ducks bounced everywhere.

“Quack! Quack! Quack!”

The friends giggled.

Soon the grass was covered with ducks and bubbles.

“What a mess!” barked Duke.

The friends looked at each other.

Then they all started cleaning up.

They picked up ducks.

They popped bubbles.

They worked together.

Soon the yard was clean again.

Inside the box was one more surprise.

A note!

It said:

Curiosity can be fun,

but always be careful!

The friends smiled.

“So,” asked Pip the mouse,

“who did curiosity catch?”

Milo laughed.

“Not the cat!”

“Not the dog!” barked Duke.

“Not the mouse!” squeaked Pip.

“Not the tiger!” roared Tilly.

Curiosity did not hurt the friends at all.

It only gave them a silly, bubbly, ducky adventure.

And the four friends could not wait for their next one.
