Harry Potter In The Speed Force

The bright door opened, and Harry Potter tumbled onto a shining floor.

“Hold my hand,” Iris West said.

Harry grabbed her fingers. Barry Allen held Iris’s other hand, and Nora West Allen held Barry’s sleeve. They stood together in a place full of gold light, blue sparks, and soft rushing sounds. The air smelled clean, like rain after a warm day.

“We are all here,” Barry said. “Stay close.”

Harry looked around. The floor moved like a river, but it was made of light. Little lines zipped past his shoes. They looked like tiny yellow toys racing down a slide.

Then the river pulled.

Harry’s hand slipped from Iris’s.

“I’m here!” Harry called.

Iris reached for him, but the shining current slid between them. Barry caught Iris. Nora held Barry tight. Harry planted his small shoes on the glowing floor, yet the floor carried him away.

“Harry, look at me!” Iris called. “We will find you!”

Harry tried to step toward her. The light pushed him sideways. He spun once, like a toy top, and landed on his bottom. The floor felt warm beneath his hands.

“I don’t like this,” Harry said.

“You are safe,” Barry called. “The current moves fast, but it cannot hurt you. Bend your knees and hold something steady.”

Harry hugged a bright ribbon of light. It wiggled like a friendly jump rope. He pulled himself forward, but the ribbon stretched. His glasses slid down his nose.

Nora pointed. “Use the lights! They move in circles. We can follow the same circle.”

Harry watched. One blue spark passed his foot, then came around again. He reached for it. Iris reached too. Their hands touched for one quick second.

“Together,” Iris said.

Harry took a deep breath. Barry counted, “One, two, three!”

They all pulled on the bright ribbon. The rushing current slowed just enough. Harry slid toward Iris, Barry, and Nora. Their hands joined in a small chain.

The Speed Force door glowed behind them. They had made it through together.

But a new swirl curled around Harry’s feet. It lifted him gently and carried him away from the others.

“Harry!” Nora cried.

“I’ll find you!” Harry called.

Iris raised her hand. “We will keep calling!”
