The Little Lie That Grew Too Big

In a bright little town lived a boy named Tango the Fox.

Tango loved games, stories, and adventures. But sometimes, when he got nervous, he told little lies.

One sunny morning, Tango accidentally knocked over his mother’s favorite flower pot.

CRASH!

“Oh dear,” said Tango.

When his mother asked what happened, Tango quickly said,

“It wasn’t me… maybe the wind did it.”

At first, the lie seemed tiny.

But later that day, Tango's friend Juliet the Rabbit asked,

“Was it really the wind?”

Tango nodded.

“Yes! A BIG windy gust!”

Now the lie was getting bigger.

The next day at school, Tango told another story.

“The wind was SO strong,” he said,

“it even lifted my scooter!”

His classmates gasped.

“Wow!”

But inside, Tango felt squirmy and uncomfortable.

That night, Tango could not sleep.

His tummy felt tight.

His thoughts buzzed like bees.

“What if everyone finds out?” he whispered.

The next morning, Tango's teacher, Mrs. Maple Owl, gently asked,

“Tango, are you telling the truth?”

Tango looked down at his paws.

“No,” he said quietly.

“I broke the flower pot. The wind didn’t do it.”

Mrs. Maple Owl smiled kindly.

“Telling the truth can feel scary,” she said,

“but honesty helps our hearts feel light again.”

Tango nodded.

He finally felt the giant worry shrinking away.

After school, Tango went home and told his mother everything.

“I was afraid you’d be upset,” he admitted.

His mother gave him a warm hug.

“I’m glad you told the truth,” she said.

“Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is being honest.”

Together, they cleaned the mess and planted new flowers.
