Understanding Export Formats

PDF exports preserve layout exactly and are perfect for lead magnets, workbooks, and printable assets. EPUB exports are optimized for e-readers and stores like Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Kobo. DOCX exports let you continue editing in Microsoft Word or share drafts with editors.

Run multiple exports when distributing across different channels. Use a naming convention that includes version numbers and dates so you always know which file is the latest approved release.

Polishing Metadata Before Export

Open the Export dialog and switch to the Metadata tab to confirm author details, title, and description. Choose whether to include a table of contents, select chapter numbering style, and decide copyright page placement.

Preparing for Distribution

For lead magnets, upload the PDF to your email platform or CDN and test the download link across devices. For Amazon KDP, upload the EPUB file and review it in Kindle Previewer before publishing.

For direct sales on Gumroad or your own website, both PDF and EPUB work well. Bundle multiple formats together as a premium package. Include the audiobook MP3 if you have generated one for maximum value.

Document your submission checklist and note review timelines for each marketplace. Once live, update your website links and marketing emails so the new ebook is properly promoted.
