Luffy In Five Nights

Luffy’s feet hit cold cobblestone like the world had thrown him out of a cannon - one second he was out on the open sea, laughing at some stupid wave, and the next second the moon was staring down at him through glassy streetlight halos that didn’t flicker. The air was too still. Not quiet like the ocean at night - quiet like someone had pressed a thumb over the universe’s mouth.

Across the street, a pizzeria sign sat frozen mid-squeal of light, the letters glowing but never changing, as if even the bulbs forgot how to blink. A bicycle lay on its side beside a gutter, one handle turned just enough that it looked caught mid-fall. Luffy lifted his hand and swung it - hard - and the motion hung in the air for a heartbeat that shouldn’t exist. His arm came back down, but it felt like the world lagged behind him, deciding whether to allow the next moment.

He blinked fast, then faster, gritting his teeth when nothing in this street answered like it should. The night normally carried sounds - distant gulls, creaks of wood, the hiss of rigging somewhere even when you weren’t looking for it. Here, there was only the faint electronic hum of something far away, like a toy box waiting to be opened. Luffy turned his head and saw the clock on a nearby storefront: hands stuck at the same angle forever. No tick. No slide. Just a dead, glittering refusal to move.

“Where’s - ” Luffy started, but his voice didn’t echo right. It fell onto the street and stayed there, hanging like a dropped coin that never hits the ground.

Then a scream tore through that frozen silence, sharp and thin, like metal scraping teeth.

Luffy ran before his brain finished catching up. His sandals slapped the cobblestones, and the sound came out wrong - too crisp, too immediate - like the world was recording him instead of living around him. He cut toward the pizzeria, the buildings closing in with that familiar FNaF vibe of cramped angles and too-clean walls, but nothing moved. A shutter hung half-open on a window, caught in the exact sliver of possibility it had when the universe got locked.

Another sound - footsteps? No. Not footsteps. More like… the idea of footsteps. Something mechanical clicked somewhere deeper in the block, and Luffy’s skin crawled at the rhythm, because it wasn’t random. It was the kind of sound you heard when something was hunting with a plan.

“Charlie!” he shouted, and the name hit the street like a bell.

The scream answered again, closer now, and this time Luffy heard it with his whole body. It wasn’t just loud - it was desperate, stretched thin, like someone being pulled away from air. Luffy darted past a row of posters on the wall. One showed a bear, a chicken, a fox - smiling like they’d never learned fear. Another poster had a girl’s face on it, and for a second Luffy’s stomach twisted, because her eyes looked exactly like the fear he’d heard in the scream.

He didn’t have time to wonder how he knew that. He only knew he couldn’t let it happen.

The pizzeria’s front doors were there, right where they should be, but the handle didn’t wiggle when he grabbed it. Luffy shoved anyway, shoulders rolling forward like he could bully physics. The door barely budged - until it did, not smoothly, not naturally, but with a sudden jerk that made his teeth click together. For a moment, the gap opened like a mouth and then - Nothing. The door stopped halfway open and hung, frozen again. Luffy leaned into it, breath roaring in his ears, and forced the gap wider with both hands. He felt resistance like pushing against a wall of syrup. His arms burned, but the world didn’t push back the way it should. It was like the street had decided movement wasn’t allowed unless Luffy demanded it hard enough.

He slipped through the sliver anyway, landing inside the pizzeria with a soft thud that sounded way too loud.

The interior was washed in moonlight through blinds that were stuck mid-angle. Tables sat in perfect order. A balloon string dangled motionless from a ceiling hook. The air smelled like old popcorn and something sharper under it - oil, dust, and that metallic tang that always meant machines were close. Somewhere behind the walls, a speaker crackled once, then went silent again, like the building was holding its breath.

“Charlie!” Luffy yelled again, and this time he heard something else beneath the scream - fabric tearing. A child’s sob caught in a throat that couldn’t find room to breathe.

He sprinted toward the back corridor, past a row of animatronics behind glass. Their faces were frozen in grins. Their eyes didn’t blink. Their bodies didn’t shift. But Luffy could still feel the danger, like staring at a shark while the water held still and the bite was queued up for later.

The hallway narrowed, and the sound of something heavy dragging scraped along the far wall - queued up, not happening, but waiting its turn. Luffy’s muscles tightened....
