The sun warmed the little green hills. Birds sang like tiny bells. You and I sit on a soft patch of grass and listen as I tell a story about a kind man named Noah. He lived by the sea. He liked to watch clouds and count the stars. He loved animals and people, and he loved God.

One day, Noah saw that people had forgotten to be kind. They were busy and noisy and did not listen to God’s gentle words. Noah worried. He wanted everyone to be safe and happy. He tried to tell them to be good, but many did not listen. You know how it feels when you try to help a friend who won't hear you? Noah felt the same.

God told Noah a big plan. Noah was to build a huge boat called an ark. It would be big enough for his family and for many animals. Noah began to build. He worked slowly and carefully. He hammered wood and tied ropes. At first, some people laughed. They said, “Why build a boat on dry land?” Noah kept working because he believed in God. He showed patience, like when we practice a new skill until it feels right.

Noah asked the animals to come. Gentle elephants and tiny mice walked in two by two. Colorful birds hopped on the rail. A pair of playful monkeys swung on the ropes. Noah fed them and made cozy beds. Sometimes he worried if the ark would be finished in time. But every day he did a little more. You can picture us helping-one nail here, one rope there. When we work together, big jobs feel smaller.

Then the clouds came, but they were friendly gray clouds. Rain began to fall softly. The ark rocked like a cradle on a quiet sea. Inside, everyone sang gentle songs and told stories by lantern light. Noah trusted God and cared for all. After the rain slowed, the sun came back. The water went down. The animals stepped out and shook their fur and feathers. People learned to be kinder and to listen.

We walk away from Noah’s ark feeling safe. He shows us that faith and patience can help us through hard times. When we trust and work with love, we keep each other safe and happy.
