The Marshland Pirate HistoryPirate Steve was a well-known local that lived on a sailboat safely anchored in the inlet not far offshore. Small town community always noticed his pirate flag raised above his sailboat knowing it was pirate Steve. Often spotted around the Marina sitting under the shaded picnic benches drinking beers and hanging out.

"You know a lot about the Pirate history around here?" Taz asked.

This is where Taz found him enjoying the Marina lifestyle. He was a local living rent free docking in the waterways with a pirate symbol on his sailboat flag from the mass it could be seen from a far distance. Wanted some answers about the old pirate maps he found on the houseboat. And wanted to explain his theory about the mines being hidden underground locations that could possibly contain treasure. This assumption was based off evidence that Bigfoot were attracted to gold and often spotted near gold or mineral deposits.

"That's why they call me, Pirate Steve."

"I found an abandoned lost mine that could be the spot of the hidden treasure." Taz explained while popping open a brew.

"What are you drinking?" Pirate Steve asked.

"It's called Manta Rays! It's a Belgium style IPA blonde with hints of oranges locally brewed downtown." Just his flavor, realizing this would take some time.

"So, what kind of treasure are you talking about?" Pirate asked.

"Well, you know I have a Bigfoot channel, right?" taking another sip or two.

"Ha-Ha! Bigfoot! I don't believe in those corny videos."

"Well, I found a hidden entrance to one of the lost mines. We were Bigfoot hunting and accidentally discovered a secret opening that might contain the treasure."

"Now, you are cooking!" Pirate Steve, eager to find out.

"Located the lost mines off an old marsh map on the Bahama Hut."

"Yeah, I noticed someone had stayed overnight on the Bahama Hut houseboat just the other evening. Was that you?" The Pirate asked on.

Started to explain; he met a new girlfriend named, Cora. That his Ex-girlfriend; Sage, had joined them on the houseboat after a day of hiking the marshland preserve forest on the outskirts of town. Explained the dangers from the fires had presented and the encounters with hunters leading them on to take refuge in the marina houseboat. Told him how the Bahama Hut was for sale and this might be the last time he's able to visit the Marina on the safe harbors off the inlet passage.

When we made it out the woods safely, we decided on scallops and shrimp to settle down for the evening. It was a very stressful day and the first time the girls ever saw a bigfoot. Showed them proof later on from their video footage. She had witnessed it, too! Had spent all day in a secluded spot and sat in tripod chairs, together, out there hiking. It was very dangerous with fires and ashes falling down everywhere, strange out of town activity, noises and eventually an encounter they had to escape.

After we finally made it to the houseboat; pulled out an old treasure map that listed the locations of the hidden mines. Telling him this is how he found the secret hidden entrance that could possibly be holding a pirate treasure.

"Ha-Ha! What else, did you do with those girls on the boat?" taking down his fourth beer finishing it off briskly.

"Man, it was incredible! I was with three girls at once! I will tell you the details another time. Just, let me explain about the mine theory!" Taz barely finishing one pale ale loving the bitter sweetness of his blonde brew.

"Manta Rays beer, Hugh!" suggesting it was a good name.

"I love it! It is Belgium Pale Ale with hints of orange and strong at 6.0 percent."

"The mines are an old story. Most of them have been rediscovered by hikers. This town always gets out of town visitors that film expeditions in search of the mining towns. And almost every single one has been found. So, what is your take!" Pirate Steve gave his insights reluctant to buy his story.

"First, you tell me what you know about the Pirates from this area."

"Have four generations of family living in this town dating back to the late 1800's and heard many tales about a buried pirate treasure. This place was visited by one of the oldest civilizations of the first settlers in America. And there is lots of pirate history involved." Pirate Steve continued to tell his story about his family heritage, giving details about a lost fortune, waiting to be found.

Explained further; the first settlers, welcoming Pirates for trade of goods they obtained in exchange for women. Safe from battalion search parties nestled quietly in the harbor away from conflict and a perfect hiding spot.

Being explorers the Pirates began searching up the waterways around the marshlands. And because of this; many people, believing that Pirates surveyed the untouched hardwood forest to find a post to hide their fortunes. That is the reason why people have tales of a lost hidden treasure loot offloaded these fortunes.
